Our Story.

A little history....

A few years ago I was out to dinner at the pub with my ever supportive husband, it was the Sunday of one of the large trade shows weekends, my socials feed was full of my nail tech friends all posting from the show.
But I was noticing something brewing in all their posts.... lack of representation.
those of my peers that were "only" nail techs were saying they felt it hadn't been worth them attending, in years gone by they would spend days prepping for these shows, they would get their nails done extra special, arrange to meet friends from other areas of the country, plan hotels and restaurants as some would come very long distances.
This time, well this time they felt the lack of stalls aimed at them, us, the nail industry, was severely disappointing.
And over dinner I was explaining to the long suffering hubster that that was why I hadn't been for a few years, that as I didn't need expensive beauty equipment and didn't have large amounts to spend there was no point in me attending.
Thats when an off hand comment started all this.
"Why don't you just throw your own trade show?"
Of coursed I laughed at him, id managed to screw up the planning of our wedding by missing a whole table of guests off the seating plan, meaning the venue hadn't set a table for them, resulting in a giant round table being rolled across the courtyard and hastily set up right in the middle of our reception (I can laugh about it now thank god).
I knew event planning wasn't my forte.
But a couple of glasses of wine later and we were sat with pens, napkins and our phones googling venues and companies that supply just to nail technicians.

I called in all my friendship chips with as many techs as I had even the most tenable relationship with, and as I suspected, this amazing industry came up trumps to support the idea.
I booked a small venue close to home and crossed my fingers. And on Sunday November 17th at the Old Rectory in Sheffield we held the first NAILTOPIA!
With a handful of small brands with big dreams just like us we had an amazingly successful day, hundreds turned out to support us, and buy amazing products. We had classes by Kerry Wright, Sonia Williams and Rachel Wilders, and with a bar on site and open too, many had a great day out.

So I immediately planned the second trade show, moving to a bigger venue, then........COVID!
We rescheduled 3 times, starting to think we would never get to hold another nailtopia trade show.
Thankfully in November 2021 the second nailtopia trade show went ahead, dubbed the covid comeback it was a very successful day
